Meet Our Team
Brian Holmes D.M.D.
Dr. Brian Holmes D.M.D. was born and raised in the small, northern Utah town of Willard. In high school he was involved in football, wrestling, and theater. After graduation he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve. He transferred to the Inactive Ready Reserve for 18 months to serve a Church mission in Ecuador. After this mission, he studied at Weber State University where he met and married his wife, Tammy DeVine. Brian and Tammy then moved to Portland, Oregon to attend the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry. While in dental school, they added two children to their family, Royce and McKenna.
Upon graduation, Dr. Holmes worked at a corporate dental clinic in Grants Pass, OR and then as an associate dentist at a private office in Gladstone OR. He was also able to teach at the dental school one day a week. In 1994, Dr. Holmes, Tammy, and their two children moved to Hailey, ID where he bought the practice of a retiring dentist. They loved this small community and the many friends they had there, but they didn't like the excessive snow and cold. So, missing Oregon, in June of 2000, they sold their Idaho practice and bought a dental practice in Florence, OR.
Almost immediately, Tammy and Brian became very involved in the community and in their church. In 2001, Dr. Holmes started a preventative dental program that began in Mapleton. That project soon spread to Florence, Yachats, Waldport, and eventually to Ecuador and Grenada.
Dr. Holmes and Tammy love to travel and spend time with their family. Brian enjoys golfing and the many friends he meets at the course. From early in their marriage continuing through today, Brian and Tammy still strive to live by the following motto: "When you are in the service of your fellowmen, you are only in the service of your God."
Justin Linton D.D.S.
Dr. Justin Linton D.D.S. grew up in an Army Military Family and lived all over including Germany and The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He served an LDS mission in Brazil before he attended BYU, and the University of Utah for his undergraduate degree. He later went to Dental School at the University of Maryland.
He married his high school sweetheart during his undergraduate studies, and now they have 4 children that they love dearly. He grew up loving soccer, wrestling and skiing. These hobbies have continued throughout his life and he loves to share them with his children. He has been instrumental in helping form the Siuslaw Youth Soccer program and continues to serve on its board, making it successful. He also enjoys coaching, and refereeing soccer. Justin loves to serve the community he lives in and the youth. He is an active member of Kiwanis. Since moving to Florence he has picked up the hobbies of fishing, crabbing, hiking and being in the beautiful outdoors.
Art has been a hobby and a passion; he finds dentistry to be one of the greatest forms of art. He graduated from dental school in 2008 and moved to Florence, moving coast to coast. Dr. Linton has kept up with his continued education, became certified in providing CEREC crowns (same day crown), and is working on his masters in sleep apnea devices (dental devices to help with sleep apnea/snoring). He loves the variety that every day brings and feels blessed to call Florence his family's home.
Travis Alcorn D.D.S.
Dr. Travis Alcorn D.D.S. grew up in Brookings, Oregon. His parents owned and operated a small sandwich bakery called Home Port Bagels and Sandwiches. He learned early on the value of hard work, service and community involvement.
While serving a church mission in Russia, Dr. Alcorn gained a strong desire to get into a medical field, as that is where he felt he could help others the most in his life. After returning from his mission trip, he attended undergraduate school at BYU and Utah Valley University, but took a break from his education to pursue a career as a corporate executive pastry chef with a fast-growing bakery chain called Kneaders Bakery, even attending a few semesters of culinary school in the process. It was in this career that he met his wife, Jolene.
After spending seven years as a pastry chef, he decided to follow his heart and attended the University of Utah School of Dentistry, a school known for a program that offers a strong clinical experience.
His wife and three kids share his love of the Oregon coast. Dr. Alcorn is excited to call Florence his home and be back in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He loves the outdoors, as well as cooking, collecting and playing board games, making chocolate from scratch, and wrestling. Most of all, however, he is excited to be in a community where he can teach his children the same values that he learned from his parents growing up.
